Chimney, Stove, Cooking Appliance and Flue Servicing - We sweep, vacuum and service all types of chimneys, stoves, cooking appliances and flues
|
| |
-
Solid Fuel -
Coal, coke, wood, peat, and other solid fuels. Please see Fuel Information Page for frequency of servicing - solid fuel appliances can require servicing from every 3 months to annually depending on the type of fuel used and the frequency of use of the appliance.
-
Gas Flues - We brush and vacuum gas flues. Please note depending on flue access we may need to get a CORGI Engineer to detach and cut off your gas fire safely before we can carry out the work - Also note that we have contacts for CORGI Engineers in your area to support us and can give you contact numbers for you to call.
-
Oil Flues and Boilers - We brush and vacuum oil boilers and their flues. Please note that in exceptional cases we may need to get an OFTEC Engineer to isolate the flue from the boiler depending on the appliance that you have. Again we have excellent contacts in your area to ensure that we get reliable service and we can give you contact numbers to call.
-
All Flue Types - Are professionally
swept and vacuumed with no mess guaranteed. We will clean up afterwards
and put all of the debris in a sealed black bag into your bin. We will
lay paper
and kindling in your fire when we finish if you have it to hand, and should
you wish us to do so.

Bird's Nests - The most common problem
and can cause major problems depending on how long they have
been in place. They can cause Health & Safety implications,
collapsing liner problems, and contribute to damp problems also.
-
Collapsed Liners - Collapsed liners
can be a result of age, water leakage, storm damage or bird's
nests. We can assess these problems and advise of the most effective solution

your home.

Pots, Caps, Cowls & Bird Guards - Inspections, Installations,
and Replacements & Removals
|
| |
-
Inspections - We recommend that these
appliances are inspected on a regular basis. This is because you
may have several chimney pots, bird guards, cowls or caps and the
lifespan of the
bird guards and cowls is generally up to 10 years. Pots and caps
last much longer, but all can be damaged by extreme weather (which
we are getting more of
these days) and therefore should also be inspected on a regular basis.
Remember we offer free inspection of your pots, caps, cowls and bird
guards. We will take digital photos and show you what we have found.
-
Installations - Some homes don't have
bird guards, cowls or caps (for disused chimneys) in place. This
can cause serious damage to your home as water running down your chimney
can cause
damp, lining collapse, and serious damage to your home. Also lack
of these items allows birds to nest in your chimney and this can cause
serious problems. Remember we install caps, bird guards and cowls for our
customer free
of charge when they buy them from us.
-
Replacements & Removals - Damaged or
broken pots, caps, bird guards or cowls need to be replaced and removed
and we will do this free of charge when you buy them from us. Remember
that damage
to these items can result in the same issues explained above.
